Its noise reduction performance depends significantly on the configuration of the physical system consisting of the control loudspeakers and the error sensors. In the implementation of active radiation control systems, the placement of the physical system is sometimes constrained by space and can't cover the entire surface of the primary source. This paper investigates the performance of the ANC system for monopole, dipoles and multipole sources and proposes an optimized configuration considering the practical installation constraint. Simulation results show that the global noise reduction is above 14.5 dB below 100 Hz for an 8-channel system with error sensors placed 0.15 m inside the control sources surface.
