AB  - The article analyzes the possibility of enlisting Kokoda Track and Owen of Papua New Guinea under the World Heritage Status. It was revealed that people within communities along the Kokoda Track are not aware of the World Heritage status and the benefits of being enlisted under the status, and that they are more concerned with basic services like food supply, health and education than the status. The Department of Environment and Conservation pointed out that tourism is a not a major sector in the Owen Stanley Ranges.
