dc.description.abstract	Much attention has been given recently to hospitals providing an efficient, quality service of the highest standards. To meet these standards, effective communication within an organization is essential. However, it is often difficult to quantify how well health professionals communicate with children and families in decision-making processes, and with each other. Rather than waiting for adverse events to occur before communication is scrutinized, an organization may develop better ways of ensuring patients are placed to receive the best of care through an understanding of existing communication strategies.	en_US

Abstract:

Much attention has been given recently to hospitals providing an efficient, quality service of the highest standards. To meet these standards, effective communication within an organization is essential. However, it is often difficult to quantify how well health professionals communicate with children and families in decision-making processes, and with each other. Rather than waiting for adverse events to occur before communication is scrutinized, an organization may develop better ways of ensuring patients are placed to receive the best of care through an understanding of existing communication strategies.
