In this brief, comparison of coupled inductors with two and three windings is presented. For this, an implementation of two simple hybrid topologies was carried out, which will be presented with their principle of operation, and performance analysis, e.g., comparison of voltage and current stress. A design guideline is presented to reduce the effect of leakage inductance and winding resistance. Five prototypes each with 250 W, were built in the laboratory to verify the performance of the converters for different values of duty cycle (D) and turns ratio (N).
