While women professional surfers have achieved prize money parity with men, the study reveals persistent barriers including a male-dominated culture, localism at surf spots, fewer competition opportunities, and disparities in sponsorships and marketing. The research, titled "Giving voice to women's experiences in surfing in Australia," aims to inform changes to support the next generation of women surfers.

Abstract:

The article discusses our study about gender equity challenges in surfing.
