dc.description.abstract This paper presents a computationally efficient approach for the free vibration analysis of vehicles fitted with a general hydraulically interconnected suspension (HIS) system. A linear half-car model is analysed as an example. Details of the equations which govern the coupled dynamics of the integrated half-car system are given and a numerical root searching scheme is outlined. The results offer further confirmation that interconnected suspensions can provide some control over modal stiffness and damping.
