dc.description.abstract Situation Awareness is the perception of the elements in the environment within a volume of time and space, the comprehension of their meaning and the projection of their status in the near future. It is a crucial factor in decision-making in a dynamic environment particularly with certain degrees of risk, called risk-based situation awareness. In this paper we first explore the most popular models in situation awareness, data fusion and risk assessment. We show how they complement each other in developing a conceptual model for risk-based situation awareness. We will also demonstrate how this model can be used to support decision-making in a dynamic environment.
