dc.description.abstract A combination of DTA and the second-derivative differential thermal curve is a powerful technique in the evaluation of phases present in complex systems. An autoclaved cement-based system with metakaolin addition was used to demonstrate the importance of the second-derivative differential thermal curve in the detection of overlapping peaks and weak endothermic deflections.
