dc.description.abstract A new network controlled handover scheme for heterogeneous wireless networks is introduced. The scheme gives better handover delay performance with nearly the same amount of signalling in the network as currently known solutions. The trade-off between handover delay and the amount of signalling is optimised to achieve high performance of the vertical handover.
