© The Royal Society of Chemistry 2017. A highly efficient Fe3BO6 anode prepared via a solid-state synthesis method is studied for sodium-ion batteries. The Fe3BO6 anode shows high capacity and excellent rate capability. The ex situ X-ray diffraction results show that the Na+ ion storage mechanism involves conversion based reactions between iron oxides and sodium.
