pubs.rights-statement	As part of a nation-wide consultation on the national plan on elder abuse (National Plan), the Institute for Public Policy and Governance (IPPG) undertook a four-hour consultation session on 2nd August 2018 on behalf of the NSW Department of Family and Community Services (FACS). The purpose of the consultation was to discuss and identify the core issues, priorities and stakeholders to be addressed in the development of a National Plan. The consultation responded directly to six ‘Priority Action Areas’ (Priority Areas) that had been proposed by the Council of Attorneys-General’s Working Group on Protecting the Rights of Older Australians in its June 2018 consultation paper entitled Developing the National Plan on Elder Abuse (Consultation Paper). The consultation engaged a wide range of stakeholders from government agencies, non-government organisations (NGOs) and community groups. This report summarizes the responses of the consultation, with the understanding that it will inform the Attorneys-General’s Working Group on Protecting the Rights of Older Australians in the next stage of developing the national plan.	en_US
