dc.description.abstract	Too often, entrepreneurs only focus on value when raising funds, planning an initial public offering or considering a trade sale. However, in the course of ‘business as usual’, there can be a tendency to ignore the rigours of value analysis. An understanding of what drives value in a business is a powerful tool for an entrepreneur. It can act as a framework for developing the business and testing strategic options. It also provides a platform to explore underlying factors that drive and sustain competitive advantage, and to develop effective protection, investment and acquisition, and licensing strategies for the business, including intellectual property (IP) protection.	en_US
