The Australin Government insists that many Afghan asylum seekers are not in need of protection, and can be forced to return. Most Afghans seeking refuge in Australia are from Hazara communities. What is it like for Hazaras in Afghanistan - is it a safe haven? Abdul Karim Hakmat, a UTS graduate and former refugee from Afghanistan, documents his journey to the Hazara regions in 2010. His pictures of daily life and continuing persecution, offer a profound insight into the humanity and personal suffering of the Afghan people.
