The application of micro-genetic algorithm (m-GA), an enhancement to the conventional GA, to 2-D TMz microwave image reconstruction problem of perfect electrically conducting (PEC) cylinders was discussed. The study was carried out by using multi illumination multi-view approach. The microwave transceivers on the UCA were used to implement the multi-illumination multi-view approach to reduce the illposedness of the problem. The comparison between the performance of conventional GA and m-GA are also discussed. The results show that m-GA converges much faster than the conventional GA.
