dc.description.abstract	Since it is not possible to identify or to create a single method that is appropriate for all situations, the need for a focussed requirements engineering method (REM) necessitates the search for a mechanism that will support the flexible creation of a number of tailored REMs from a single base. Using a repository of reusable method components, it is possible to use the techniques espoused by the method engineering community to construct an appropriate REM that is well-suited to the particular system or application development endeavour under consideration. One particular example is used to illustrate this approach that of the OPEN Process Framework (or OPF).	en_US
