What is the state of art after postcolonial francophone studies? Debates tend to center on the need for a broadening of perspectives in response to the mutation of fields, notably that of cultural spaces once excluded from classical francophonie. In a parallel step, the emergence of literatures in French from countries historically free of French colonial domination challenge the trilogy colonialism/anti-colonialism/post-colonialism with new paradigms which redefine the frontiers of contemporary francophonie. The question still remains posed: is there a francophonie in the Orient outside of Indochina? The present article proposes new paths in that direction.
