It explains that lesbians are often portrayed as violent aggressors and anti-social in films and suggests that such portrayals do contribute to a culture of anti-lesbian discrimination and violence. It analyses three narratives of transgressive lesbian desire and argues that each of them offers a challenge to a hetero-normative representational codes.
