This paper introduced the concept of engagements are as way of integrating different kinds of processes. It defined the concept of engagement and showed its application to a range of processes . It then suggested alternate ways to provide services to support engagements. The main alternatives were based on workspaces and the paper described issues in integrating workspaces into processes. It then described future work in this area including mobility and the ways engagements can be used to support virtual organizations. © 2006 Springer Science+Business Media, LLC.
