One way to accomplish authentication is for a computer system to imple-ment a mechanism that allows access to critical information available through this system. In this context, critical information refers to contents of private data, access to a physical place, or access to a specific service. Often, advancements of technol-ogy lead to easier compromise of current biometrics, like fingerprint, voice, and retinal authentication. This review paper focuses on presenting and comparing emerging biometric modalities. Furthermore, it suggests a fusion of multiple meth-ods that can enable a more secure multimodal biometric access control system.
