As Australia transitions from a mining-based economy to a service or knowledge-based one, the importance of effective knowledge management in organisational context is becoming more important than ever. What do we mean when we say – ‘Knowledge Management’ – and where does it overlap with traditional librarianship? What role can librarians play in effective Knowledge Management? We may need to redefine some of the current skills and acquire few new ones. A change in mindset may be necessary.
