© 2018 IEEE. Combined polarization- and pattern-reconfigurable antenna is highly desired for future wireless systems that require high data rate and multiple functionalities. Parasitic strips are loaded around a multi-linear polarization reconfigurable antenna to obtain switchable beam for a specific polarization state. It it verified through the simulation that the main beam can be scanned to -30°, 0°, and +24° at phi=90 {circ} polarization state by switching the PIN diodes on the parasitic strips. Furthermore, the realized gains are stable for these states, i.e., varied between 5.4 dBi and 6.5 dBi.
