To improve the precision of two dimensional magnetic field measurement in a single sheet square specimen core loss measuring system, a novel sandwich arrangement of magnetic field sensing coils is proposed. The losses are calculated from the measured magnetic field intensity and flux density. A new method of resolving the total loss into four portions depending on the rotational and alternating components of magnetic field and flux density is presented.
