In recent years dc islanding detection based on current disturbance of selected frequency CDSF is becoming a promising technique because it has fast detecting speed and good power quality However the implementation of the CDSF potentially causes stability issues in the grid connected dc microgrid In this paper the impedance characteristics of the voltage source converter VSC and distributed generators DGs equipped with CDSF are investigated to reveal the instability mechanism of the cascaded system Moreover a virtual damping stabilizing control based on the dc grid current feed forward is proposed to cancel out the oscillation peak of the VSC which effectively mitigates the instability associated with the CDSF loop Finally the theoretical development is verified by simulation results
