pubs.rights-statement	Helsingør School mounted an international competition is 2012 for a refurbishment of the existing school and a new multi-use hall that connected the street level of the school with an elevated sports field. TERROIR was shortlisted in the final four of the competition with Danish collaborator PLH and ultimately received 2nd prize. TERROIR’s key part of this project was the multi-use hall. Our solution was for a ramped building that simultaneously provided a direct connection with the street and field level and made a new public amphitheatre and plaza at the street while containing within it all the functions of a multiple purpose sports hall. The project is located within a suite of work examining the intertwining of building and landscape and including other Danish architects such as Henning Larsen, JaJa and BIG. The particular significance of this work can be found in its deployment of a contemporary trope within architecture on an incredibly sensitive heritage site and in such a manner that new opportunities were opened up for both the school and for the city more broadly	en_US
