pubs.rights-statement	Current notions of architectural preservation were conceptualized in parallel to the foundation of the International Conference of Modern Architecture (CIAM) in 1928. Conceived, Janus-like, as the necessary other side of the modern architecture’s avant-garde impulse, further developments have remained faithful to the antagonistic differentiation of old and new failing to reconcile object-oriented ontologies that question this division. Superphosfates!, a master plan for the reconstruction of Aldea Moret—a 19th Century mining company town planned following utopian socialist models and located in Cáceres—explores non-nostalgic architectural preservation strategies while giving the population modes of visualization and involvement in the process. The plan highlights the similarities between scientific laboratories and the original model of the village—both self-sufficient technically sophisticated organizations that allow insulated experimentation before releasing their conclusions to the world—to draft a policy of preservation that recognizes and gives voice to all its constituencies, including humans and non-humans. Its value has been attested by the following indicators: its inclusion in the book Ideas Changing: Europan Implementations 2008-2012 (Europan Europe: Paris, 2012), (AM Master Plan was awarded first prize in the International Competition, Europan 8 Caceres); and its exhibition in the Shenzhen Bi-City Biennale of Urbanism/Architecture, 2012.	en_US
