dc.description.abstract	It has been a wonderful honour and privilege to serve as Editor-in-Chief of the Journal of Clinical Nursing for the past several years, and as Editor for several years prior to that. Joining the editorial team in 2007, I was very fortunate to have the opportunity to learn much about editing from Professor Roger Watson who was Editor-in-Chief when I was first appointed, and then was very honoured to have the opportunity to step into his shoes when he took up his post at the Journal of Advanced Nursing.
