dc.description.abstract	The Other Portrait presents works by ten Australian artists encompassing photography, sculpture and screen-based media. Centred on representation and the self, it demonstrates the complex and varied ways in which artists have explored identity through the prism of the individual, family, community and creative practice. Unfolding across two campus galleries at the University of Technology Sydney and Sydney College of the Arts at University of Sydney, the theme of ‘doubling’ finds expression in both the exhibition framework and artworks which are shown between each venue, forming an extended conversation in halves.
