Fulfilling customer quality requirements is a key competitive factor for companies. The customer requirements for a product can thereby be very different. In this paper a concept for optimal assignment of intermediate products to customer orders from the backlog on the basis of quality predictions is presented. The aim of the concept is to reduce scrap and delivery date deviations.
