The emergence of a growing debate surrounding transdisciplinary collaboration is a reaction to the increasing speed of change that confronts our society and the complexity of the dynamic and networked problems we face. The University of Technology Sydney instituted its first transdisciplinary program in 2014, resulting in the formation of a faculty 3 years later. This chapter provides an example of the integration of transdisciplinarity within a university’s mission and its early educational development and delivery. Highlighting the lack of precedent for such a radical change and the inherent challenges that educational institutions themselves may present to a successful implementation and integration, the author provides a case study to enable others to learn from this early adoption. The intent is to inform and aid the further development of industry and institutional transdisciplinary collaboration. In examining this real-world experiment, there are lessons to be learned. These will aid recognition of the potential of this new educational paradigm to enable a new generation to engage with complex problems in new ways in a rapidly changing world
