Just as quantum scientists experienced an existential disorientation, so must we, to understand how their findings upend what we think we know about transformative learning. Transformative learning within a relational ontology emerges from the organic confluence of many streams of thought. This paper will recap key findings from New Science, identifying key elements in the Relational Turn and how it applies to transformative learning. This chapter also briefly introduces two other streams of thought—alchemical and Indigenous insights—regarding the transformation process. Using this theoretical convergence, research data from a study on transformative sustainability education are re-examined for new insights on transformative learning processes, particularly in relation to the possibility of a sustainable future, as part of the Great Epochal Shift.
