This report examines productivity performance and how government regulations related to planning, labor, and the environment impact this performance. Case studies conducted with businesspeople from Singapore, Malaysia, India, and Bangladesh reveals the regulatory impact on business innovation, competition, and productivity in these countries. The report identifies the need for policies that foster entrepreneurship and innovation while balancing regulatory approaches. It outlines eight steps through which other APO members can determine their target areas of improvement.
|
