dc.description.abstract	This thesis describes an attempt to distinguish between COPD and Severe COPD or Severe Early Onset (SEO)-COPD, using a multi-omics approach. We used transcriptomics data, as well as DNA methylation, small-RNA-sequencing, and proteomics data and analysed these using bioinformatical techniques to identify distinct molecular signatures associated with each condition. By integrating these diverse data sets, we aimed to uncover novel biomarkers and pathways that could provide insights into the pathophysiology of (Severe/Severe Early Onset) COPD. This comprehensive approach not only enhances our understanding of the disease mechanisms but in the long run also has the potential to inform the development of targeted therapies and personalized treatment strategies for patients suffering from these debilitating conditions.	en_US.UTF-8
