In the aftermath of 30 years of warfare and the indoctrination of the curriculum in Afghanistan with military content and propaganda, Commissioner Fahim Hakim will give a short presentation on the Commission’s efforts to turn the tide and incorporate Human Rights Education into schools.
The Afghanistan Independent Human Rights Commission (AIHRC) sees education as a reliable tool for transformation and is seeking to enhance the capacity of school teachers to introduce new participatory and student centred teaching methodologies and to develop a strong political will within relevant government institutions towards human rights education.
