This paper examined the possibiliy of emergemcy intermodal transferabiliy of travel documents from a mode of transpot rendered inoperable from natural causes such as extreme climatic, tectonic or atmospheric conditions to an operable mode of transport. The paper examined the case study of the Icelandic volcano of 2010 and the Chilean Volcano of 2011 which caused widespred disruption of air tramnsport. The author explored a viable model of emegency intermodal ransfarbility through interviorews with European based transport industry leaders.
