The training and match demands in the competition phase in team sport can vary dramatically depending on the quality of opposition, the number of days between games, and match location. The simple model described in this article can be used to predict the match difficulty and guide the prescription of future training loads during the in-season training phase in team sports. © National Strength and Conditioning Association.
