Technology used to develop safety measures and driver interactive systems is crucial in the railway environment. It is important to understand train driver risk factors which can be detrimental to driver and passenger safety. There are many technological systems that address safety in the railway environment. This paper provides a brief review of the current know how in the area. Future work in the area is proposed. © 2011 IEEE.
