The application of Raman spectroscopy to the study of crystallinity in polymers has been examined. In particular, Fourier transform (FT)-Raman spectroscopy has been applied in a number of studies in recent years to investigate crystallinity in a variety of polymers. The polymers discussed in this review are polyethylene, polystyrene, poly(ether ether ketone), polyamides, poly(ethylene terephthalate), elastomers, liquid crystalline polymers, inorganic polymers and certain polymer blends.
